Budgets & Custom Options

BUDGET CHOICES

OK, so perhaps you love the sound of our holidays, but you are on a tight budget - perhaps you’d rather not stay in such a nice hotel and save some money? We can offer two further options to bring the price of your holiday down further:

1) “Drive and Guide Only ” Holidays

This option drops all of the accommodation costs out of your holiday price, and leaves all the rest of our facilities available to you. Basically, it’s exactly the same holiday, but no accommodation or meals are included. It will be up to you to organise your own accommodation based on the budget which you have available and the type of accommodation which you prefer to use.

We’ll give you the exact dates and locations that you would need to make your own arrangements – don’t forget that you will probably have to book early, as cheap hotels, B+Bs and Hostels etc tend to get booked up very quickly! If you later decide to swap across to our full holiday package and stay in our preferred accommodation you can do so with no hidden costs, subject to availability – you simply pay the difference to upgrade.

We will still collect you from the start point and drop you back at the end of the week, but you will also be responsible for getting to and from our accommodation each day for rides etc – so make sure you are in the right town! We can give you a lift to and from your accommodation at your expense if you need it, however.

The prices for Drive and Guide Only holidays are shown in the Prices and Booking Section – please contact us for further information.

2) Budget Weeks

The hostel in the Sierra Subbetica has sweeping views across the local town and mountainsNew for 2011 we have started offering some special "Budget Weeks" - beginning with our Spanish Trail Tapas holiday. This allows you to experience the full holiday which we normally offer, but with the first few nights in alternative accomodation to keep the costs a bit lower than normal!

Rather than staying in our usual 4 star hotel for the first 3 nights we instead accomodate you in a Spanish "Albergue". This is similar to a Youth Hostel or Bunkhouse - so it's basic, but extremely clean and tidy. For the final 4 nights you still stay in our lovely rural hotel, as normal!

The albergue rooms typically accomodate between 2 and 4 people in bunk beds, and the hostel is located next to a ruined castle on a clifftop, with an enormous view up into the Sierra Subbetica mountain range. Its a very dramatic spot!

It's only a 2 minute walk into the centre of the village, which has a stereotypical whitewashed Andalucian look, with a lovely town square and historic buildings and narrow mooriish alleyways. There's a host of local cafes, bars and restaraunts within easy reach too.

Please note that this option is not inclusive of breakfasts for the 3 mornings at the hostel - this can be bought very easily locally however. Once we move to the hotel in Cazorla (day 4) breakfast will be provided.

We actually stay in this hostel ourselves too - and we will ride from the door into the mountains on the first day of the holiday! Full details of dates and prices are found on our Prices and Booking page.

1) "Chamonix Special" Week

Located just outside the town centreAnother new introduction for 2011 is our "Chamonix Special" week - which sees you based in our hotel in this glorious Alpine town for all 7 nights of your holiday - which saves on fuel and travel, and is therefore a little cheaper than our full "Ultimate Alps" holiday.

This week sees us remain in the Northern end of the region for all of the riding - which means that you get to ride even more of the World's best natural singletrack around Chamonix, and you still get to see some of Europe's most famous riding such as the Pass'Portes Du Soleil route, Les Gets Bike Park and the infamous Morzine.

Whilst you won't get to ride in Alpe D'Huez and Les Deux Alpes we will show you even more of the secrets in the Chamonix Valley, including our epic "Border Patrol" ride and the dark and mysterious "Twister" ride - plus sections such as "The Blair Switch Project" and "Rooty Tooty"!

The prices for "Chamonix Special" weeks are shown in the Prices and Booking Section – please contact us for further information.

Custom Holidays

At Singletrack Safari we appreciate that sometimes an “off the peg” holiday might not be quite what you are looking for. Perhaps there’s a group of you looking for the ultimate mountain biking experience of a lifetime, or perhaps you are a couple looking for a bike-obsessive’s dream honeymoon! Whatever the reason, you might want something that you don’t see here – or maybe there is something which is in your imagination, but you don’t have the time or contacts to arrange yourself.

With our organisational skills and logistical support we can make your flights of fancy come true!

Fancy a month’s extended holiday travelling around all of Europe’s greatest riding highlights? We could custom design the roadtrip of a lifetime for you from the North of Scotland to the South of Spain, taking in everything in between!

Twin country trip? Talk to us about coming for our changeover weeks – we could arrange for you to travel with us as we journey from one country to the next. Perhaps you’d like to start with a week in the Pyrenees and fly home from Spain a week later?

All of these options and more are certainly possible, and we can tailor the experience to your needs – but bear in mind that we can’t give costs until you tell us what you want! Clearly a month or two’s travel and accommodation around Europe isn’t going to come cheaply – but the more riders in your group the further the costs get divided!

Have a roadtrip idea of your own? Give us your basic idea an we’ll put everything together for you – we’ll do all of the research, the planning, the booking and the preparation – plus we’ll sort out the best riding, pick you up and do all of the driving and guiding.

Please get in touch and let us know what you have in mind and we’ll give you an idea of its complexity and an approximate cost with no commitment.
