We describe Andorra as “The Home of the big trails” – because we are lucky to have enormous mountains full of huge descents. Even our “smallest” descents are usually around 600m, but many of our trails are 10km or more in length and drop over 1000m vertically. With daily uplift support into these huge, snow capped mountains; it feels very Alpine, but with weather more like that of nearby Spain. Generally our trails are dry and dusty – rain is a rarity during our extra-long June to October summer – and we have it all; epic backcountry trails heading up top over 2600m, flowing pine forest descents, tough rock gardens, sinuous twisting loam, slickrock, switchbacks, steep tech & more…
Our mountains are jaw droppingly beautiful…but local knowledge is essential; it’s impossible to find or reach the best singletrack without our guides & logistical support. Trails are very hard to find due to poor mapping and the remote backcountry, and transport is difficult due to the lack of road access and the very mountainous nature of the area. Plus almost every valley is buried in thick forests, so you can’t even see where you are! However, it’s this which makes Andorra almost unique in Western Europe – our trail network is deserted, other than by a few locals. There’s no lack of awesome trails, but they simply don’t get much use! This means that you will have the phenomenal singletrack in every corner of this tiny country to yourselves, and you are unlikely to see another trail user on most descents!
