We describe Andorra as “The Home of the big trails” – because we are lucky to have enormous mountains full of huge descents. Even our “smallest” descents are usually around 600m, but many of our trails are 10km or more in length and drop over 1000m vertically. Whether you choose to ride with our guides, or in the park, as you head up the lift/ ride our van into the huge, snow capped mountains teh views are very Alpine. But with barely a day of rain most months the weather is far more like that of nearby Spain! No Alpine-style thunderstorm weeks here! Generally our trails are dry and dusty during our extra-long June to October summer. We are lucky to have it all; epic backcountry trails heading up to over 2600m, a massive and incredible Bike Park that rises over 1000m above town, flowing pine forest descents, tough rock gardens, sinuous twisting loam, slickrock, switchbacks, steep tech & more…
Our mountains are jaw droppingly beautiful…but local knowledge is essential; it’s impossible to find or reach the best singletrack without our guides & logistical support. Natural trails are very hard to find due to poor mapping and the remote backcountry, and transport is difficult due to the lack of road access and the very mountainous nature of the area. However, it’s this which makes Andorra almost unique in Western Europe – our natural trail network is deserted, other than by a few locals. In contrast, Pal Arinsal Bike Park (was Vallnord) is one of the World’s best designed parks, with the best organisation and trail maintenace of any we have ever ridden. The whole town and resort remains almost as operational in summer as in winter – there are bike shops and places to eat/ drink everywhere…and the super-fast lift access means that you will rarely ever queue to do another park lap!
