North Wales Guiding

North Wales is arguably the UK’s perfect mountain biking location – it is easy enough to reach within a few hours from most places in the country, yet possesses huge mountains, world-class riding, epic scenery and an incredibly extensive  and diverse trail network. It is possible to head out into rugged high mountain backcountry scenery one day, and explore incredibly well-hidden forest loam around the lushly-forested valleys the next – and often we combine both into a single day on the trails. If you have visited North Wales’ brilliant trail centres (such as Coed-y-Brenin, Gwydir Forest etc) you’ll be staggered by what exists just beyond the confines of the man-made routes – you will have missed incredible riding without realising how close you came to it. Even close to civilization we can ride in areas with a true wilderness feel that seems remote, often untouched and rarely explored…if you know where to go!

When we originally started Singletrack Safari (way back in 2010) we began by guiding on the trails we knew best in Europe – and our very first week at work as full-time professional guides saw us on the trails here in North Wales with our inaugral group of riders! Since then our company has changed a lot – and we have gradually grown to become one of the best-known holiday and guiding companies in Europe. We have been lucky enough to operate and guide in multiple locations all over the continent, with visitors from all over the planet on a weekly basis. Whilst Andorra remains our primary guiding location in the summer months, throughout the last decade we have remained UK-based – and we have finally been lucky enough to make our permanent home in our favourite area; our beloved North Wales.

We can say without doubt that North Wales has held a very special place in our hearts since the mid-90’s when we first rode in Snowdonia, and we were even present on the official opening weekend at Coed-y-Brenin – the UK’s first mountain bike trail centre. Back then it was a long trek up from South Devon – but it was a pilgrimage we made regularly. Fast forward 30-ish years and we live here full-time amongst the edge of the Clwydian Mountains, and only a short drive from all of the area’s best riding locations. We feel very lucky to live in such a trail-rich and beautiful area!

We can now offer more guiding, more trails and more flexibility in North Wales than ever before. Being based permanently close at hand we can offer day guiding, weekend trips or even help you arrange a full week to see the finest riding North Wales has to offer. From hidden natural trails in the dark, deep forests of Betws-y-Coed and Coed-y-Brenin, to the exposed and impressive big-mountain ancient rocks of Snowdonia – we have trails of every type at hand, to suit riders of all ability levels.

Holiday Pricing

Our North Wales guiding is flexible, and based around what you need – and our pricing reflects that too. We have tried to make it viable for us to offer great prices to groups and individuals alike, as not everyone goes on a trip in the UK with a huge group of riding buddies!

Whether you are an experienced rider, or a relative beginner we have routes which will suit you – and we can also offer coaching for riders of all abilities and skill levels.
